Bananas Are Botanically Berries

Botany does not always match the grocery-store version of fruit categories.

A botanical berry develops from one flower with one ovary and usually has seeds embedded in fleshy pulp. Bananas fit that definition, while strawberries are aggregate accessory fruits.

It is one of those classification facts that sounds wrong until the definitions do their work.
